Sous un Ciel en Couleurs

IMG_7638
Even though I know it's part of the processus of getting better and because it was still intensive surgery no matter what, I'm in such a state that anything puts me into tears. Not always sad tears, even the happy ones come leaving red-nosed... I know I need to get everything out of my system and tears is a good way to do so, so i'll just met the tears come and leave their salty traces on my face for a little while.

I can't wait to feel normal and at ease so I can enjoy the new me. I know it's just a matter of time so for now, I'll just rest some more and enjoy the 'free' time ahead of me.

p.s. I will update my blog with loads and loads of posts, feel free to ignore the less recent ones.

December is here!

I've always loved this last month of the year even though I lost my Dad on Christmas.

We've made so many wonderful memories before then and after too. I think it's what we should always keep in mind in times of sadness and grief: whatever happens, there will always be good memories to make out of every situation, even though it's very hard to see them at the time.

This year is not ending the way it was supposed to but I guess I'll just have to face it and make the best out of it: my grandpa is very very sick and we don't know what's going to happen today or tomorrow or a week from now. It's so hard to hear my Mom cry on the phone and not being able to do anything to soothe her pain.

I'm ever so grateful to have Peter around, he helps me get through this through his own experience. I love him even more everyday for all the support he's shown lately. It must be difficult on him to relive all this and I'm positive we'll get through it all, together and will become stronger as a couple.

I called the doctor today because she planned an appointment but the timing isn't good.
I stopped the glucophage medicine this weekend because it makes me sick and I don't want to take too many medicine and jinx our chances but she said to continue it until we know for sure that I'm pregnant. I think it's a bit ridiculous, especially because it makes me sick but she's the doctor.

So I took the medicine today and as I suspected I feel like throwing up and my stomach is really upset. I got sickly and had to take a shower to calm me down.

I don't feel like eating, I feel tired and a bit stressed. I'm drinking a lot of water and try to relax a bit but I have to do so many things... I think I'll just do a few today and the rest tomorrow. I don't want to go to work tonight but I need to work and get out of the house.

I'm not sure if those could be also symptoms and I don't want to draw conclusions but I hope this medecine is harmful if I'm pregnant. I've never like taking medecine and I believe that the less you take, the healthier you are.

I need to focus on something different until then. I need to reorganise the office, it's quite some work but it'll feel so much better after I'm done. Organisation is a key to peace of mind!

No one ever tells you about the bad side of anything.
Why? Because indeed, it's bad. Ah!

wanted: bébé 1
I came back from my trip to Istanbul feeling tired and disoriented and sick. I thought it was the combination of the wonderful warm and active week + the great weekend in the nature of Limbourg.

On Monday, I started feeling a bit dizzy and pain in my low tummy. Then on Tuesday, the pain was growing, it made me sweat like a whale and have hot-flush and muscle pain.

But today, I had to go to Brussels to get my passport, meaning: taking the tram, then the train, then the metro and then walking and all the way back around. With every single step, the pain in my womb was as if someone was poking me with something. That was pretty bad and really made me feel like a mess.
I arrived in Brussels wet from the sweat and feeling so weak I bought a croissant filled with apricot jam. It didn't really took the pain away, but at least I ate something yummy that put my attention away from the pain for a few minutes.

I'm so very glad that getting my passport took about 2 minutes top, I don't know what I would have done otherwise: faint? Maybe. Throw up? Unlikely. When I got out of the Consulat, I paused for a moment to gather my thoughts. Could I be pregnant? I didn't think so. But since the assistant told me to call the doctor today after 11am, I focused on that and I knew she'd give me answers. Though I wasn't worried, I just felt sick.

As I got home, I first tried to get hold of my students: my state worsened on the ride back home and I wasn't sure if I could teach him today. But he didn't answer.
The next call was for my doctor. As soon as I got her on the line, my muscles relaxed and suddenly the pain didn't feel as bad: I was ovulating!

The doctor was ecstatic: I could hear in her voice how excited she was for me. I realized now that changing doctors was the best decision I've ever made. She told to get on with it (her exact words were, "do your thing now!") and that made me smile because the timing was so wrong! Lieverd is away for the week. Aww, she was so disappointed, it was cute.
I wasn't because if I could ovulate once, I sure hope I could do it again.

The pain started to feel less consuming after the news. Maybe because it was very good news. And I hope that my body will let me experience this again next month.

IMG_6948I'm getting sick again.
Nobody likes it and neither do I: it feels so powerless and seems to always be coming by at the wrong time.

I'm not sure what is going on with me but with 6 little cold sores, I'm up for something bad. Normally it's the starting point. Then the sickness starts to hit me bad until I can't take it anymore and have to go to the doctor and stop working so I can slow down and rest.

I really hope it's not too bad cause I need to work. I love my job and since lately there's not so much of it, I'd take what I can get. Getting out of the house is really energizing and rewarding, even though I'm a real homebody.

Today wasn't at all how I expected it to be.

I had an appointment with the gynecologist and he checked me and all of a sudden, he became very serious and he told me he saw something and that I should get dressed and he'd tell me at his desk. He even took a picture of my ovaries, he said something but I can't quite remember.

I was about to burst into tears in the changing room, I didn't know what to expect. After that HPV and the surgery in 2007, I was thinking the worst. Yet, I calmed myself down before going to his office.

He was drawing something on a paper: he's a bad draftsman because I couldn't tell what it was. And then he started to explain to me that my ovaries produced infertile eggs and that they were stuck in the ovaries. That's why sometimes I have pain there.
It's called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

There are three solutions:

  1. I take fertility pills to try to be pregnant.
  2. I take medecine to have my periods almost regularly.
  3. I take the pill again to be sure to have my periods (which is the option I'm going for since lieverd is not ready to have a baby just yet, and since we talked about it and he feels it's the best option right now.)
This kind of news wasn't at all what I was going for but I'm also relieved we finally know what's wrong with me.

Of all the symptoms PCOS has, I have so many that it makes me want to cry:
  • infrequent periods & excessive bleeding during menstruation,
  • weight gain & obesity,
  • hairiness & hair loss,
  • small skin growths around the neck and shoulders,
  • increased levels of blood sugar.
I've noticed that a few were already bothering me but thought about other causes, which probably didn't help, I'm sure.
Right now, I'm feeling so down that I don't really want to think about it even though it comes  back to my thoughts all the time. I'm just, I don't know, shocked, I guess. And I also don't understand why this is all happening to me. What did I do to deserve this? Was I so mean? Am I a bad person?

Will take a nap till Santa comes

It's been almost 3 weeks that I have this pain in my hip while I'm laying in bed and it's really annoying because I don't sleep well.
Today is the worse: the pain is so bad that I walk in a weird way and I can't bend otherwise it hurts like hell. I had that kind of problem before but I'm not quite sure it's the same.
Anyway.

J'espère que j'arriverai à me calmer !
