When we moved to Gent in 2007, we received a map of all the pubs there and BabyLuv & I decided that we'd go to all of them. Unfortunately the map teared when I tried to move it to another wall and I had to throw it away.
Early November 2009, I got a new similar map but it pointed all the Gentse restaurants! This was just perfect because we adore going to the restaurant. So we decided to try every restaurant in town. What a challenge! We're on the right track already and we still go to our favorite places often but we like to try a different one now and then.
Our choice today went for a restaurant called Passion, which is situated in the middle of the centrum, with a great view over both the Sint Niklaas Cathedral and the Belfort. Perfect!
The service was very nice and pleasant, the guys were very friendly and joking around a bit. I loved the welcoming atmosphere and the lovely and warm decor.
The food was delicious: Peter chose a typical course from Ghent, the Gentse Waterzoi. He said it was very good and loved the spices in it. I chose the sole, served with French fries and some salad, suggestion of the chef. I was very surprised by how good it was! I'm not a big fan of whole fish dish: taking out the fishbone can be so annoying. But it was so easy and the texture of the fish was perfect!
I finally got around to print my favorite pictures from our 6th year anniversary and put them in a frame I found in Antwerpen a few weeks back. I'm so happy with the result and I can't wait to put it on the walls. We haven't decided yet where we'll be putting it but BabyLuv says he wants friends and family to see it when they come over. That made me so happy! It's now in the living room, on top of a radiator but I hope we'll find its right place soon.
I've been watching Anna Graceman's video on youtube and I'm pretty blown away, this girl has such a powerful voice and a great talent at writing songs. She really blew my mind away!
We woke up to a beautiful snowy scenery this morning, it was so gorgeous and peaceful.
It's such a shame it didn't last.
I was lucky enough though since I took the train to work today and could snap some pictures of the white white powder covering Mother Earth and the train rails. I just couldn't stop staring and being mesmerized. Antwerp's train station was magnificent with the sun set just behind its top. I really love this building.
Today was such a beautiful day for me because I got to see some of my favorite friends. They're really dear to me and I miss them a lot. They were the ones who helped me through my years in college in Lille and I'm forever grateful for them.
It was such a treat having them over this afternoon: we drank some tea, talked about our lives and our common friends, ate some sweets and cookies and brownies. It even snowed! What a surprise for all of us! It was a perfect reunion!
Nadj is a very talented translator (English to French), she's so sweet and always encouraging. She has a big heart and can always make you smile no matter what. I love her optimist nature.
Seb is a multitask talented bear! He fixed our toilet in a jiffy! I was sooo impressed! He can build furniture, theater decors, fix almost anything and he's one of the kindest men I know.
Nadj looks gorgeous with her pink and blue hair, doesn't she?
I think those two are one of the cutest couples I know.
Thank you, Nadj & Seb for coming to our little home.
We shouldn't wait another year before we see each other again, ok?!
Love ya!
